This week’s quick pick of internet finds has a Japanese theme as we’re on holiday here at the moment. As usual, good things come in threes…
Weddings
When Japanese couples get married they often choose to do wedding packages in which every aspect of their day is provided for. How about:
♥ the magic of a traditional Japanese wedding in beautiful Kyoto with: traditional Japanese wedding attire for the bride and groom; your wedding ceremony at world heritage listed Kamigamo Shrine; and a wedding dinner at the Hotel Granvia Kyoto.
♥ a fashionable western wedding in Sapporo with: a wedding dress for the bride and tuxedo for the groom; your wedding ceremony in the amazing Sapporo Blanc Birch Chapel; and a western style wedding banquet.
♥ a Disney Royal Dream Wedding at Tokyo Disneyland with: costume hire so you can look like a true Disney prince and princess; your wedding ceremony in Cinderella’s Castle; and good luck wishes from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Donald and Daisy Duck, at your reception at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel.
Art
Here are three Japanese artists that are well with checking out.
♥ Ryo Ohwada, particularly his World of Round and Bonsai works.
♥ Shinichi Maruyama, all of his work is amazing, but I particularly like his Kusho and Nude collections.
♥ Kent Shiraishi, especially his snowscapes and blue pond works.
Random Asides
♥ Japan also likes lists with three items.
♥ Hello Kitty’s birthplace is officially “in the suburbs of London, England”.
♥ If you visit Japan, try to make it to Miyajima Island. It’s on the list of Japan’s top three views, and definitely ranks in my top travel destinations.
Have a great weekend!
