Quick Picks – Week 5, 2013

quick-picks

Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. They do say that good things come in threes…

Weddings

Did you know that Etsy has a Wedding Registry Service?

If I lived closer to Perth I’d definitely be going to see the V&A’s Unveiled – 200 Years of Wedding Glamour Exhibition at the Western Australian Museum. If you are lucky enough to be nearby, it’s on until 24 March 2013.

The Knot Australia has a list of eight alternatives to a traditional guest book.

Art

This week I’ve been captivated by people who make cutting paper into an art form. In particular:

The papercut cityscapes of Chauntelle Trinh and Eckard Buscher .

The original papercut illustrations of Sarah Trumbauer.

The pinprick drawings of Melbourne-based artist, Stanislava Pinchuk (Miso).

Random Asides

I’ve been inspired by Cheryl Adamson’s Joyful Revolution.

Visit Scotland, Scotland’s National Tourism Organisation, has Shetland pony ambassadors who are helping promote the Year of Natural Scotland.

I had no idea that Muji made cardboard animals until a friend asked me to bring her some back from Japan. They also have cardboard buildings, planes, cars and trains. Who knew cardboard could be so much fun.

Have a great weekend!
