Quick Picks – Week 9, 2013

Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…

This week’s wedding links are all about the paperwork…

The suitcase suite of wedding stationery from Lula & Bella is just gorgeous.

If you’re designing your own wedding stationery, and you’re looking for inspiration when it comes to fonts, Polka Dot Bride features a new font every week in Tuesday Type. Just a warning though, if you find a font you love, they’re not always free…

If you want to go paperless, why not consider setting up a wedding website? Appy Couple lets you put together your own rather stylish app and website.

The surreal oil and acrylic portraits of Seattle-based artist Kari-Lise Alexander are just beautiful. Note: Some images in this link may not be considered suitable for your workplace.

UK artist Tony Plant creates truly temporary works.

I’m a huge fan of Brisbane City Council’s Artforce project which promotes turning traffic signal boxes around Brisbane Suburbs into canvases for original artworks. Good to see the program is still going strong, with lots of new additions to the scheme in 2012.

Random Asides

How sweet is this video! I love how many of the couples hugged each other at the end. It made it feel as though they’d really make a connection.

While I love the idea of having a fabric trackpad on my Macbook. I’m not sure I’m quite brave enough to go through with actually sticking things to it and trusting that it will still work.

Geoff put up shiny new shelves beside my desk this week, so now I’m on the lookout for some interesting bookends. I’m trying to decide which of the fabulous ones designed by Design Atelier Article I like most.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
