Quick Picks – Week 10, 2013

quick-picks

Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…

Weddings

This week’s links are all about those personal touches.

Two Little Owls in Love has a whole heap of DIY printable Wedding Invitations, and some of them are free.

Polka Dot Bride has a round-up of just some of the origami decorations you can find on Etsy.

Hello May has some fabulous ideas for seating charts. My favourite is the one that suggests people sit wherever they like – it encourages people to meet new people, and takes the pressure off the Bride and Groom in arranging the perfect seating chart – win, win!

Art

This week’s links are all about paper.

Australian artist Loui Jover creates beautiful ink drawings on vintage book paper. Note: Some images in this link may not be considered suitable for your workplace.

Estonian artist Eiko Ojala creates fabulous graphic collages.

Ukrainian artists Dmytro and Iuliia create delicate hand-cut paper silhouettes from single pieces of paper.

Random Asides

If you’ve ever found yourself wishing you could stamp emoticons on actual paper, then this Japanese emoticon stamp should make you very happy. I know it’s on Geoff’s wish list.

Our local theatre group is based two doors down from us. We’ve overheard them rehearsing various plays in the past, and we figured it was finally time to go and see what they get up to. So we’re off to see them perform The War of the Worlds this weekend.

Geoff came across this bamboo bike this week. I think it might be love.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
