Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…
Weddings
♥ Polka Dot Bride does regular roundups of all things wedding-related on Etsy. This week they looked at paper lanterns. I think their finds are lovely, and I’d happily have them in our flat for everyday decoration.
♥ If you want to go vintage for your wedding, but you’re not sure where to start, Queensland Brides has put together a list of the basics of elegant vintage styling.
♥ Like many girls, I have a magnetic attraction to all things shiny and sparkly. While I appreciate that diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, they’re not terribly friendly to the budget. So if you want to add some sparkle to your wedding day, but don’t want to break the bank, costume jewellery is the way to go. Glamadonna in Sydney have a wide enough range to satisfy most tastes, and they have an online shop too. P.S. They have a special offer on via The Knot Australia, which will get you 20% off until 30 April 2013.

Art
This week’s art links are all about getting out and about to see some art in person.
♥ The Archibald Prize exhibition opened on Saturday. What better reason for a trip to Sydney?
♥ If you’re in Brisbane and you haven’t been to see The 7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT7) exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery yet, you should try to get there. The gallery is closed on Good Friday, but is open for the rest of the Easter long weekend. The exhibition closes on 14 April 2013.
♥ The QUT Art Museum in Brisbane is a bit of a hidden gem. They’re currently hosting an exhibition called Foundation’s Edge which, in their words, “presents the work of artists who, rather than adhering to the intended use of technological devices, push them to realise their potential as an art medium”. Art-speak aside, it sounds like an interesting concept for an exhibition.
Random Asides
♥ If you’re struggling to work out how to decorate with unicorns, Apartment Therapy has you covered.
♥ BrisStyle has put together a short and sweet independent guide to shops in West End, Brisbane that stock handmade products.
♥ Etsy has a guide to dressing up your iPhone case with pressed flowers. I can’t believe that Geoff would happily let me loose with epoxy resin, but it’s a nice idea!
That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great long weekend, I know we will!
