Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…
Weddings
♥ If you’re in Brisbane this weekend, why not head to the Love Vintage Fair for a little vintage wedding inspiration.
♥ We often think of the drama that the girls go through in sorting out their wedding day accessories. Polka Dot Groom reminds us that it can be tricky for the boys too.
♥ If you’re honest with yourself, you know your bridesmaids probably aren’t going to wear their dresses again. But something they are likely to wear again is a handmade dressing gown that you give them to wear while getting ready. Doie Lounge make some truly lovely ones.

Art
Last weekend we went on a road trip to Sydney to see the Archibald Prize. This week’s art links highlight just some of the other art related finds from our adventure.
♥ While we were in Sydney we managed to catch the last day of the Anish Kapoor exhibition at the MCA. It was fabulous. If you get the chance to see some of his works in person, you should definitely take it. It was also entertaining to watch person after person reaching towards the artworks as their brains struggled to cope with the visual illusions in front of them.
♥ I love looking around the MCA Store in Sydney to see what art and design finds they have tucked away. My top find this time was Shaun Tan’s picture book The Arrival. It’s amazing to read a book with no words. I’m completely taken in by the way it feels like there’s a movie playing in my head as I turn the pages of this book.
Random Asides
I’m often surprised by how few people have taken the opportunity to explore our beautiful country by car. A road trip through the eastern states of Australia is something that should be on everyone’s to do list. More that once. To get you thinking about it here’s a tiny selection of places that I’ve fallen in love with on our travels. If we decide to leave the city again, there’s a chance we’ll end up in one of these places…
♥ The New England Region of Northern New South Wales. There are even nicely mapped out scenic drives to make exploring easier for you.
♥ Bendigo. Not least for their wonderful Art Gallery, for Bendigo Pottery, and for their beautiful old buildings.
♥ Victoria’s High Country. If you want to follow a set touring route, you have the choice of soaking up some history with Tourism Victoria’s Ned Kelly Touring Route, or some more indulgent soaking with their food and wine touring route through the North East Valleys.
That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
