Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…

Weddings

Sydney’s Savvy Brides sells second-hand designer bridal gowns. It’s definitely an option worth considering for the budget conscious bride, or for any bride who likes the idea of recycled fashion.

Why not consider a pretty clutch purse as an alternative to a bouquet for your bridesmaids. US store Oatmeal Lace Design makes some beautiful custom ones. There are also some lovely ones available from a range of Australian shops on Etsy.

100 Layer Cake has six sets of nail art inspiration for your wedding day. Whether you prefer pretty and pink, boho chic, glam, edgy, playful, or classic, there’s bound to be something to inspire.

Art

Artist Melissa Crisp turns backyard bonfires into works of art with her custom fire pits.

Photographer and Graphic Artist Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze makes me think about architecture photography in a whole new way with his vertical horizon collection.

Random Asides

This week I learnt about the bizarre fun you can have when you mix glass and water in the form of the Prince Rupert’s Drop. Who knew exploding glass could be so pretty? Warning: This link will take you to a YouTube video which auto plays.

Watchmatchers MB&F have teamed up with music box makers Reuge to create the extremely limited edition MusicMachine. The left cylinder plays the themes from Star Wars and Star Trek, and the Imperial March from The Empire Strikes Back. While the right cylinder plays Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall, Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Waterand John Lennon’s Imagine. They’ve only made 66 of them, so if you have to ask you probably can’t afford it…

If you find making a cup of tea a little dull, you can always make it more entertaining with a Penguin teaboy timer. Warning: This link will take you to a YouTube video which auto plays.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
