Here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…

Weddings

There’s a chill in the air, that little reminder that winter is on the way. If you’re worried about being chilly in your winter wedding, why not consider a faux fur wrap. Polka Dot Bride has searched out 11 for you to consider.

Thinking of a waterside wedding? Queensland Brides has ten venues to inspire you.

Offbeat bride has a really sweet suggestion for wedding favours – mini perfume vials. It would also be a lovely gift for bridesmaids.

Art

Artist Florentijn Hofman makes giant sculptures. His Rubber Duck sailed into Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong today. It has already toured the world, visiting Sydney, Osaka, and Sao Paolo.

Photographer Gregory Crewdson produces large-scale staged photographs of middle-class American life. His production resembles a film set more than a photography shoot, and the results are worth seeing. Check them out at the Institute of Modern Art, on Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley until 25 May 2013.

Jessica Durrant’s illustrations have joined my wish list. She will be having a 24 hour flash sale on 11 June 2013 during which all of her 8.5″x11″ prints will be 50% off – add it to your diaries.

Random Asides

It’s no secret that I love coffee, and I love The Oatmeal. So when the two come together in a guest post on I♥Coffee it’s a good day. How 99.9% of people judge the quality of their coffee.

Earlier this year I cut the long list of news sites I used to follow out of my rss reader. I found that the stories they were publishing tended to make me unhappy or annoyed, and I felt that I wasn’t actually gaining anything by reading them. Turns out The Guardian agrees with me: News is bad for you – and giving up reading it will make you happier.

I rediscovered the wonder that is the Six Things Shop this week. Be warned visiting this site may prove to be expensive.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
