I’ve been fighting off a cold this week which has involved lots of cups of tea and warm blankets, and a little bit of feeling sorry for myself. Luckily the internet has kept me entertained and smiling. Here’s the pick of my finds from this week. As usual, good things come in threes…
Weddings
This week’s wedding links are all about the joys of wedding stationery.
♥ If talk of save the dates, programs and bomboniere tags has you confused, then The Knot Australia has you covered with a guide to wedding stationery that covers what the individual bits are, what they’re for, why you do or don’t really need them, and why you might want them anyway.
♥ If you’re interested in having a full suite of lovely coordinated stationery, then you might want to check out Brisbane-based Fox and Fallow. They do template design and custom design sets, and their menu wheels are one of the sweetest pieces of wedding stationery I’ve seen – fun and functional!

♥ Perth-based Felicitations also do standard template invitations, but it’s their custom designs that I really love, especially their fold-out and pop-up ones.
Art & Design
Over the weekend we visited the Finders Keepers market and discovered the work of a whole host of wonderful artists and designers. Here are three that stood out.
♥ Artist and crafter Hanna Mancini had some beautiful prints and hand sewn creatures on offer. One of her prints will shortly be gracing the picture ledges beside my desk.
♥ Graphic designer, illustrator and crafter Ella Mobbs had a range of wonderful wares on show, but it was her vintage plates that really caught our eye.
♥ The Bespoke Letterpress stall was so busy it was hard to actually see what they had on offer. But we persevered and were duly impressed with their divine paper goods. P.S. They also do wedding invitations.
Random Asides
♥ This weekend the Old Museum in Bowen Hills plays host to another fair. The Confetti Fair aims to provide ideas and inspiration for those of you planning a party, whether it’s a birthday party, an engagement party or your wedding reception. It’s on from 11am on Sunday. Entry costs $5.
♥ Dale Irby and his wife Cathy are my kind of people. In 1974 Dale, who was P.E. Teacher, accidentally wore the same outfit for the yearly school photos that he had worn the previous year. His wife Cathy dared him to do it again the following year, and he did, for the next 38 years. So brilliant.

♥ If you’re at the Gold Coast this weekend things might seem a little surreal due to the Elvis Viva Surfers Paradise festival which includes the invitation only Elvis Tribute Artist Competition. The Surfers Paradise foreshore will become a celebration of everything Elvis, with music, film, dancing, classic cars and Elvis-era memorabilia collections. It’s on from Friday 12 July to Sunday 14 July.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
