Quick Picks Week 3, 2014 – featuring online wedding stationery, ceramic dinosaurs and tailored gift hampers.

Quick Picks

It’s that lovely time of year where I find myself wanting to spend every spare moment at the beach. So as I plot and plan ways to do just that, here’s this week’s quick pick of internet finds. As usual, good things come in threes…

Weddings

Did you know that US online vintage and vintage-inspired clothing retailer ModCloth has a wedding section? They also have free shipping on international orders over $150.

If you want to go paperless for your wedding but you still love the idea of designer stationery then you should check out Paperless Post. Their gorgeous online range even includes envelopes and reply cards.

These wooden wedding countdown blocks would be a sweet way to count the days until your big day.

Art & Design

Artist Brett Kern makes ceramic inflatable dinosaurs. You know I want one.

Sydney-based artist Alex Seton sculpted fabric from marble for his Elegy on Resistance series.

Russian artist Andrew Ferez illustrates books, but I would very happily hang some of his work on my walls.

Random Asides

For gift hampers with a difference, check out Bindle’s handmade, tailored gift packages. They’re based in Melbourne and focus on Australian orders (lucky us!), but they will ship internationally if you ask them to.

College Humor has an entertaining take on the questions we ask Google. Note: This link will take you to a website with a video that may play automatically

The epic book sale extravaganza that is the Lifeline Brisbane Bookfest starts again this Saturday. As usual it’s on at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre in Southbank. It runs until Monday 27 January 2014.

That’s it for another week’s quick picks. Have a great weekend!
